Staff App

The salon pager, now in every technician’s pocket

When the front desk assigns a guest, the right technician’s phone buzzes. Between services, they can check their turn, their appointments, and their pay without walking back to the desk.

Stop calling names across the salon

On a busy day, the front desk loses real time calling across the floor or walking back to tell someone their guest has arrived. Aura sends that message straight to the technician’s phone the moment the guest is assigned — and sends it again if the first buzz goes unnoticed.

Assigned at the desk. Buzzing at the station.

The salon sets how many times each technician is paged, from one to five, in technician settings. Someone who works with gloves on can get a few buzzes; someone who always has their phone out can get one.

  1. The front desk assigns a guest on the turn board
  2. The technician’s phone buzzes with the guest and service
  3. It buzzes again a few seconds later, as many times as the salon set

Everything a technician checks between guests

Five tabs, each scoped to the technician who is signed in. Nobody has to ask the front desk where they stand.

  1. Turn

    Their place in the rotation

The live turn queue, where they sit in it, and the turns they have already taken today.

Aura Staff Turn tab listing four available technicians in turn order: Ava first with 2 turns, then Olivia, Emma and Sophia.
  2. Appointments

    Who is booked with them

Their appointments for today or any other date, with a running total for the day.

Aura Staff Appointments tab for September 24: Hannah K. at 12:00 PM for a Spa Pedicure and Acrylic Fill, and Dana W. at 3:00 PM for a Gel Manicure.
  3. Tickets

    What they finished

Closed tickets with the customer, services, and tip, so there is nothing to reconstruct at the end of the day.

Aura Staff Tickets tab: $185 in sales and $37 in tips for the day, with Hannah K.’s closed ticket for a Spa Pedicure and Acrylic Fill and a $19 tip.
  4. Home

    What they earned

Tips and totals by day, week, pay period, or month — the same numbers the salon runs payroll from.

Aura Staff Home tab for Ava at Aura Salon: $185 earned and $37 in tips today, above her weekly tips and totals.

Guest assignment pages

A push notification the moment the front desk assigns them a guest, repeated as many times as the salon sets.

Bookings and cancellations

New appointments and cancellations each have their own sound, so the difference is clear before they unlock the phone.

Closed ticket notices

A note when checkout closes a ticket they worked on, with the services and tip attached.

The live turn queue

The same rotation the front desk sees, with their own position and today’s turn history.

Pay by any period

Tips and totals daily, weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, monthly, or for a custom date range.

Print the day

Send today’s or yesterday’s summary to the salon printer from the phone.

Available on iPhone and Android. Each technician signs in with their own Tech ID, and a manager resets access if a password is forgotten.

Frequently asked questions

What does a technician get notified about?

Guest assignments from the front desk, new appointments, appointment cancellations, and tickets closed at checkout that include their services.

Does it work on both iPhone and Android?

Yes. The staff app is available for iPhone and Android, and both connect to the same salon account.

Can technicians see each other’s tickets or pay?

No. Each technician signs in with their own Tech ID, and the app only shows the turns, appointments, tickets, and pay that belong to them.

Can a technician change the notification sound?

Yes. Each technician picks their own sound in the app, or chooses Silent, and can preview a sound before saving it.

What happens if a technician forgets their password?

The salon manager resets access from Aura. Technicians do not need to contact Aura support to get back in.
